Who we are

Abbey Accountancy Ltd is the data controller. Our registered office is Conway House, 31 Worcester Street, Gloucester GL1 3AJ. You can contact us about your information at ian@abbeyaccounts.co.uk.

What we collect

When you use the enquiry form we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, message and, if you choose to give them, your business name, phone number and the service you are interested in.

This website does not use cookies for advertising or analytics. The enquiry form sets one short-lived session cookie when you send it, which is used only to stop the form being submitted repeatedly. A copy of each enquiry is also kept in a private file on our web server, in case an email goes astray. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use your details to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to prepare a quote. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is legitimate interests, in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We do not use enquiry details for marketing and we do not sell them.

Who we share it with

Enquiries are sent to us by email through our website and email hosting provider, which processes the information on our behalf and may store it on servers outside the UK under appropriate safeguards. We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If you do not become a client, we delete your enquiry, including the copy on our web server, within 12 months. If you become a client, your details form part of your client record, and we will give you a fuller privacy notice that covers the work we do for you.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to our use of it or to ask us to restrict that use. To exercise any of these rights, email ian@abbeyaccounts.co.uk. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
